Cookie Policy
ReclaimX utilizes only essential session tokens and local storage preferences to ensure secure and smooth operations.
1. What are Cookies & Local Storage?
Cookies and Local Storage are small text data fragments stored inside your web browser. ReclaimX uses these mechanisms exclusively to remember your sign-in state and visual settings across pages.
2. Essential Data Elements We Store
ReclaimX does not use cookies for tracking or advertising. We only store functional tokens needed to operate the system:
Firebase Authentication (Essential): We store temporary user authentication tokens to keep you safely logged into your dashboard, profile, and claiming pages. These tokens expire automatically and are cleared when you log out.
Theme Preference (Essential): We cache your selected light/dark theme preference inside your browser's local storage. This enables the theme-loader to render the interface instantly without any screen flickering.
3. Zero Third-Party Advertising Cookies
We guarantee that ReclaimX contains zero commercial tracking scripts.
We do not load advertising networks, cross-site profiling pixels, Google Analytics trackers, or social sharing analytics. Your campus search history, claimed items, and credentials are completely private and are never shared with any corporate marketing systems.
4. How to Manage Cookies
You can delete or block cookies and local storage values through your browser settings. However, please note that disabling authentication cookies will prevent you from logging in and reporting items, as the system requires session tokens to authenticate claims.
